VI. Equipments of a Shooting Range

Equipment requirements and specifications for practical shooting ranges.

VI. EQUIPMENTS OF A SHOOTING RANGE

6.1. Targets – main principles

6.1.1. Targets are used in practical shooting competitions, taking into account the requirements of the WPSF. The types and kinds of targets used in practical shooting competitions are listed in Annex 2 to these Rules. The size of the targets and the conditions of their placement are determined by the technical regulations of the competition.

6.1.2. The following targets are used in practical shooting competitions:

6.1.2.1. handgun and soft bullet handgun - WPSF P100 Target, WPSF P60 Target, WPSF PPR Target, WPSF MNP Target, WPSF RAN Plates, WPSF RND Plates, WPSF MTC Target, Subtype PF targets;

6.1.2.2. carbine - WPSF P100 Target, WPSF P60 Target, WPSF UVL Target, WPSF PPR Target, WPSF MNP Target, WPSF RAN Plates, WPSF RND Plates, WPSF MTC Target, Subtype PF target;

6.1.2.3. shotgun - WPSF P100 Target, WPSF P60 Target, WPSF UVL Target, Subtype PA targets, WPSF PPR Target, WPSF MNP Target, WPSF RAN Plates, WPSF RND Plates, WPSF MTC Target, Subtype PF target;

6.1.3. If one or more targets do not meet the exact descriptions and it is not possible to replace the target with the prescribed type, the Chief Judge must decide whether it is acceptable to use these targets in the competition and what conditions apply. The decisions of the Chief Judge apply only to this competition and will not be a precedent for future competitions on this range, or for similar use of similar targets in another competition.

6.1.4. Test targets used in all practical shooting competitions must be of the same color.

6.1.5. In competitions penalty targets are clearly marked with a bright "X" or painted in a single color different from the test targets used throughout the competition or tournament. Paper and metal penalty targets in the same competition may be painted in different colors provided that all penalty targets of the same material have the same color throughout the competition (if the metal penalty targets are yellow, they remain yellow throughout the competition or tournament, if cardboard penalty targets are white - remain white until the end of the competition or tournament).

6.1.6. In competitions the targets in the shooting Stage may be partially or completely hidden by using a hard surface.

Hard coating is used to hide all or part of the target. If possible, the hard surface should not be imitated, but constructed using impenetrable materials. Whole paper targets are not used to simulate a hard surface.

6.1.7. In competitions targets on a shooting Stage may be partially or completely hidden by using a soft coating.

Soft coating - a coating designed only to complicate the inspection of targets. Shots that pass through the soft surface and hit the test target will be counted. Shots fired through a soft surface and hitting a target will be fined. All target areas covered by the soft coating remain completely intact. When using a soft cover, the target can be completely closed, but its contours are visible. If the soft surface is opaque, it is necessary to leave part of the target uncovered.

6.1.8. The use of one whole target, separated by tape, paint or other means as two or more targets and / or placement of a WPSF P60 Target on a full-size target is prohibited.

6.1.9. Only approved targets, mechanically or electrically driven, may be used to activate moving targets.

6.2. Paper targets

6.2.1. Six types of paper targets are used in handgun and soft bullet handgun competitions - WPSF P100 Target, WPSF P60 Target, WPSF MTC Target, Subtype PF targets.

The WPSF P60 Target is designed to simulate full-size targets located over long distances.

The WPSF MTC Target and the WPSF SOF Target are used only for "practical" Stages. Various identification symbols can be applied on their front side.

The WPSF HSS Target for speed Stages is used only for "speed" Stages.

The WPSF MGD Target for mixed Stages is used only for "mixed" Stages and classification Stages of multigun dynamic shooting.

6.2.2. Only a WPSF P60 Target is used in air handgun and air carbine competitions.

6.2.3. Six types of paper targets are used in competitions with a carbine and a pistol caliber carbine - WPSF P100 Target, WPSF P60 Target, WPSF UVL Target, WPSF MTC Target, WPSF SOF Target for applied Stages, WPSF HSS Target for mixed Stages.

WPSF MTC Targets and targets for practical Stages are used only for "practical" Stages. Various identification symbols can be applied on their front side.

The WPSF MGD Target for mixed Stages is used only for "mixed" Stages and classification Stages of dynamic all-firearms.

6.2.4. Six types of paper targets are used in competitions with a small-caliber carbine and small-caliber handgun - Subtype PX targets, Subtype PM targets, WPSF SOF Target.

The WPSF P60 Target is designed to simulate full-size targets located over long distances.

WPSF MTC Target and WPSF SOF Target are used only for "applied" Stages. Various identification symbols are applied on their front side.

6.2.5. Eight types of paper targets are used for the shotgun - WPSF P100 Target, WPSF P60 Target, Subtype PM targets, Subtype PA targets, WPSF SOF Target, WPSF MGD Target.

The WPSF P60 Target is designed to simulate full-size targets located over long distances.

Subtype PM targets are used only for "applied" Stages. Various identification symbols are applied on their front side.

The WPSF MGD Target is used only for "mixed" Stages and classification Stages of multigun dynamic shooting.

6.2.6. WPSF UVL Target, Subtype PA targets are used together with other types of paper targets in one shooting Stage in competitions with a carbine, pistol caliber carbine, small-caliber carbine and a shotgun

6.2.7. If the test area of the paper target is to be partially hidden, the Stage designers can simulate a hard surface in one of the following ways:

6.2.7.1. close part of the target;

6.2.7.2. cut and remove the part of the target that is considered to be hidden by a hard surface;

6.2.7.3. glue or paint in a single contrasting color part of the target, which is considered to be hidden by a hard surface.

If the paper targets are partially hidden, trimmed, painted and / or sealed, part of all test zones must remain visible.

Hard surfaces (and overlapping penalty targets) should not completely cover zone "A" on a partially hidden paper target.

6.3. Hard Targets

6.3.1. In competitions, WPSF Hard Targets and penalty targets that may accidentally turn to the side or fall on the edge when hit, are prohibited. Their use may lead to the revocation of the sanctioning of competitions as practical shooting competitions.

6.3.2. In competitions, WPSF Hard Targets and penalty targets that, in the opinion of the judge, fell or were returned due to hitting the device that fixes the target or other accidental cause (gust of wind) , ricochet or gunshot) are recognized as equipment failure.

6.3.3. In competitions, WPSF Hard Targets and penalty targets do not have a non-counting limit.

6.3.4. In competitions, the test WPSF Hard Targets must fall or fall over in order to be counted.

Targets with a hit indicator can be used in competition.

6.3.5. In competitions, WPSF Hard Targets designed to determine the power of the shot to be calibrated.

6.3.6. In competitions, Subtype MP targets of different sizes can be used.

For "speed" Stages, WPSF Hard Targets can be used, which are identical in shape and size to paper targets.

In competitions with an air handgun and air carbine , it is recommended to use solid WPSF FSH Plates to uniformly fix the Stage time. WPSF FSH Plates must be clearly different from ordinary plates, and their sensitivity is calibrated. WPSF FSH Plates are not taken into account when counting points.

6.3.7. In competitions with a carbine, it is recommended that WPSF RND Plates with a diameter of 15 cm - WPSF RAN Plates - be placed at a distance of up to 100 m.

15 x 15 cm, at distances from 100 to 200 m - WPSF RND Plates with a diameter of 20 cm - WPSF RAN Plates 20 x 20 cm, at distances over 200 m - with a diameter of 30 cm - WPSF RAN Plates 30 x 30 cm.

6.3.8. In competitions, WPSF RAN Plates and WPSF RND Plates are not used to determine the power of the shot and are not calibrated, protests against calibration are not accepted. If a metal plate has been hit by the full diameter of the bullet but has not fallen or overturned, the judge may declare the equipment defective and order the participant to shoot the shooting Stage after the defective plate has been adjusted.

In air handgun and air carbine competitions, WPSF FSH Plates are not used to determine the power of the shot and are not calibrated, except for sensitivity calibration, calibration protests are not accepted. If the finish plate has been hit by the full diameter of the ball but has not fallen or overturned, the judge may declare the equipment defective and order the participant to shoot the shooting Stage after the defective plate has been adjusted.

6.3.9. In a competition with an air handgun and air carbine, a WPSF FSH Plates that has not fallen or overturned after a previous hit, but was hit by the next shot, is not a reason to re-shoot.

6.3.10. In, Subtype MP targets that did not fall or overturn after the previous hit, but were hit by the next shot, are not a reason to re-shoot.

6.3.11. In competitions, WPSF RAN Plates and WPSF RND Plates penalty targets can be used the same shape and size as paper targets.

6.3.12. In competitions, WPSF RAN Plates and WPSF RND Plate of "speed" Stages do not fall. They do not have countless areas and are repainted in the original color after each athlete who has completed the Stage.

6.4. Fragile targets

6.4.1. Fragile targets, such as ceramic plates or tiles, can be used in competitions, but should not be used as penalty lines or other penalty-related items.

6.4.2. Fragile targets, such as ceramic plates or tiles, can not be used in air handgun, air carbine and soft bullet handgun.

6.5. Alteration of equipment or surface of a Stage

6.5.1. The Athlete may not change anything on the surface of the shooting range where the Stage is constructed, in the construction, scenery or other equipment of the Stage (including targets, target stands and target activators). Failure to do so may result in one procedural fine for each attempt by a judge.

In air handgun and air carbine competitions, items designed to mitigate the fall of stores may be placed by the athlete himself prior to the Stage under the supervision of a judge.

6.5.2. Athletes may require match officials to restore the surface, targets, and / or any other object. The Chief Judge makes the final decision on all such claims.

6.6. Malfunction of a Stage equipment and other questions

6.6.1. Stage equipment must function continuously and equally for all athletes. Stage equipment failure includes, but is not limited to, the following:

6.6.1.1. shift of paper targets;

6.6.1.2. premature activation of metal or moving targets;

6.6.1.3. failure of mechanical or electronic equipment;

6.6.1.4. failure of decorations such as openings, ports and barriers.

6.6.2. The declaration and / or use of any firearm as "Stage equipment" is prohibited.

6.6.3. An athlete who is unable to complete a shooting Stage due to a malfunction of the equipment or due to the fact that a metal or moving target was not installed before his shooting, shoots the Stage after eliminating the malfunctions.

6.6.4. Unrecovered paper targets are not a malfunction of the Stage equipment.

6.6.5. If the Chief Judge considers that one or more targets in the course of the shooting Stage were defective and / or were in a condition significantly different from that previously demonstrated, he may offer the Athlete to shoot the Stage.

6.6.6. Systematic malfunctions of the equipment in the Stage may lead to the withdrawal of this Stage from the competition and the removal of points for this Stage from the results of the competition.
