VIII. COMPETITION STRUCTURE

8.1. General principles

8.1.1. For clarity, the following definitions are used:

8.1.1.1. Shooting Stage - a shooting test in practical shooting with its own calculation of time and points, designed and built in accordance with the stated principles of construction of Stages, containing targets and obstacles that each athlete must safely overcome; Stage - part of a practical shooting competition that includes one shooting Stage and related ancillary equipment, facilities, shelters and pointers. During the Stage, in addition to applied, only one type of firearm is used;

8.1.1.2. Competition - an event consisting of at least 3 Stages that use the same type of firearm;

8.1.1.3. Shooting multiathlon - an event consisting of competitions in various types of classes. Compilation of individual results obtained by the athlete in each component competition, determines the winner of the shooting multiathlon in accordance with the rules of shooting multiathlon. This principle does not apply to a small-caliber carbine and an air handgun.

8.2. Classes in competitions

8.2.1. Classes in practical shooting distinguish different types of firearms and non-firearms and equipment. At least one class is determined in each competition. If several classes are open at the competition, the points are counted separately and independently of each firearm class. The winner is determined in each class. In competitions with the use of speed, applied Stages, the Regulations may establish other classes.

8.2.2. In an authorized competition in practical shooting for the opening of a certain class it is necessary that not less than 5 participants of competitions of regional, city and club levels and not less than 10 participants of competitions on international and national levels take part in it.

If there are less than the minimum number of athletes in this discipline, the match director may leave the class open, but without official recognition of the results.

8.2.3. Before the start of the competition, each athlete declares the class of the firearm for credit, and the officials of the competition check the conformity of the athlete's equipment to the declared class.

8.2.4. If the Athlete does not agree with how his equipment has been classified, he shall provide the inspecting officer with the relevant evidence before the first shooting task begins. In the absence or refusal of such evidence, the original decision shall remain in force and may be reversed only after recourse to the Chief Judge, whose decision is final.

8.2.5. The participant's ammunition and all related equipment available to him during the shooting task shall be checked for compliance, if required by the official of the competition.

8.2.6. With the prior consent of the Match Director, the athlete may compete in several classes. Such an athlete can compete for results only in one class in which he performs first. All other attempts in other classes are not taken into account in the results of competitions and awards.

8.2.7. If the class declared by the Athlete is absent, excluded from the competition, or if the Athlete has not been able to enter a certain class before the start, he will be assigned to the class that, in the opinion of the Chief Judge, best suits the Athlete's equipment. If the appropriate class does not exist, the athlete will participate in the competition without accruing points.

8.2.8. Athletes competing with a handgun of any kind, whose distance from the handgun and related equipment to its torso or the maximum limit for the handgun, holster and related equipment determined in accordance with the technical regulations will not meet the requirements of the declared class after the starting signal, will receive a warning for first time. Subsequent cases in these competitions will result in transfer to an open class, if any, otherwise the athlete's points will not be taken into account in the competition results.An athlete who has already registered in the open class but who does not meet the requirements set out above will receive a warning for the first time after the start signal, but his points will not be taken into account in the results of the match in case of such events. Athletes whose firearms and non-firearms or equipment do not meet the requirements of the declared class after the start signal, except for the above, will be transferred to the open class, if any, if not - the athlete's points will not be taken into account in the results of the competition.The points of an athlete who is already registered in the open class, but who does not meet the requirements for the open class after the start signal, will not be taken into account in the results of the competition. This rule does not apply to measurements made in accordance with the rule provided for in paragraph 7.2.14 of these Rules, either before or after the Athlete has completed the Stage.

In shotgun competitions, an athlete whose distance from the cartridges to his torso will not meet the requirements of the declared class after the starting signal, will receive a warning for the first time.Subsequent cases in these competitions will result in transfer to the open class, if any, otherwise the athlete's points will not be taken into account in the results of the competition. An athlete who has already registered in the open class, but who does not meet the requirements set out above, will receive a warning for the first time after the start signal, but his points will not be taken into account in the results of the match in case of such events.Athletes whose firearms and non-firearms or equipment will not meet the requirements of the declared class after the start signal, other than those listed above, will be transferred to the open class, if any, if not - the athlete's points will not be taken into account in the competition. The points of an athlete who is already registered in the open class, but who does not meet the requirements for the open class after the start signal, will not be taken into account in the results of the competition. This rule does not apply to measurements made in accordance with paragraph 7.2.15 of these Rules, either before or after the Athlete has completed the Stage.

In competitions with a carbine, a small-caliber carbine, an athlete whose firearm or equipment will not meet the requirements of the declared class after the start signal is transferred to the open class, if any. The points of an athlete who is already registered in the open class, but who does not meet the requirements for the open class after the start signal, will not be taken into account in the results of the competition.

In competitions with a pistol caliber carbine, the points of an athlete who does not meet the requirements of the classes of a pistol caliber carbine to the starting signal will not be taken into account in the results of the competition.

8.2.9. An Athlete who is classified or reclassified as described above shall be notified immediately. The decision of the Chief Judge on this issue is final.

8.2.10. In competitions, an athlete reclassified to the open class in accordance with paragraph 8.2.8 must then meet the requirements of the firearm class, but continue to use the same ammunition devices, in accordance with paragraph 7.1.10 of these Rules. If an athlete's ammunition meets the requirements for ammunition with a major power factor in the open class, his points for all competitions will be adjusted accordingly.

8.2.11. An athlete who is disqualified during a competition may not continue to compete in another class. This rule has no retroactive effect. Any results of competitions that ended earlier in another class will be included in the test and accepted for award in that class.

8.2.12. The classification of an athlete in any class may not affect the classification in the category or inclusion in a regional or other team.

8.3. Categories in the competition

8.3.1. In the competition in practical shooting there may be different categories within each class defined by these Rules. These categories define different age groups of athletes. An athlete can compete in only one category in a competition or tournament. In competitions with the use of speed, applied Stages, the Regulations may establish other categories.

8.3.2. If an athlete does not meet the requirements of the declared category or has not submitted an application to the category before the start of the competition, he is excluded from the declared category**.**

8.4. Regional teams

8.4.1. Subject to the availability reserved of places, only one official regional team in each class and / or category may be selected from each region to participate in the international competition level.

8.4.2. Individual, the number of points of one athlete can be credited to only one team in the competition. Each team consists of athletes who perform in the same class.

8.4.3. The individual class and / or category in which the athlete is declared determines his affiliation with the team (for example, an athlete who competes in a series class may not be a member of an open class team). An athlete who is registered in any category may be a member of the general team in the same class.

8.4.4. Teams consist of a maximum of four athletes, the results of the top three go to the team standings.

8.4.5. If a member of the team withdrew from the competition before the end of any circumstances, the points he managed to score are credited to the team. The injured team cannot replace a team member.

8.4.6. A member of the team who cannot participate in the competition is replaced by another athlete before the start of the competition by the decision of the director of the match.

8.4.7. A team member who has been disqualified from the competition is awarded zero points for all Stages. A team cannot replace a disqualified athlete.

8.5. Conditions of admission to competitions

8.5.1. Athletes and competition officials are allowed to participate provided they take a course on safe handling of firearms and non-firearms during sporting events and study these Rules with instructors appointed by the World Federation.

8.5.2. Personal admission of an athlete to competitions is carried out by the mandate commission on the basis of:

8.5.2.1. registered application;

8.5.2.2. an identity document of the athlete;

8.5.2.3. insurance certificate (policy, certificate) according to the applicable local Regulation.

8.5.3. The regulation may establish other additional conditions for admission to competitions.

8.6. Division of participants into groups and scheduling

8.6.1. Competitions are held in accordance with the published schedule and schedule of Stages for each group of athletes. Athletes who do not show up at the scheduled time for the Stage may not perform this Stage without the special permission of the match director. If permission is not obtained, the athlete will receive zero points for the missed Stage.

8.6.2. Officials of the competition, honored guests may participate in the pre-match with the permission of the director of the match. According to the decision of the match director, the results of the pre-match may be included in the general results of the competition, if the date of the pre-match is previously published in the official competition schedule. Athletes of the main part of the competition are not forbidden to watch the prematch.

8.6.3. The start date of a competition, tournament or league is the first day on which the athletes shoot for the standings, and the end date is the day on which the director of the match announces the final results.
